The Department of Telecommunications on Friday issued a notification, directing all phone service providers to reverify details for all existing subscribers through Aadhaar-based e-KYC (Know Your Customer) process.This follows a Supreme Court order last month in which it had approved the government’s plan to record the identification details of mobile subscribers through an e-KYC mechanism linked to Aadhaar.
INDIATODAY MARCH-2017 Indian Railways will invest about ₹12,000 crore in developing a common digital platform for integrating information from all its departments leading to savings of about ₹60,000 crore, said Suresh Prabhu, Railway Minister. “In the last Rail Budget, I had announced an Enterprise Resource Planning system that will be an IT-based platform for system-wide integration and planning,” Mr. Prabhu said during a conference involving leading software companies, to draw the roadmap for the software.

FIRSTPOST MAR-2017. The revised RBI guidelines say that the minimum validity of the prepaid meal instruments shall be one year from the date of loading. Existing paper vouchers shall not be valid beyond December 31, 2017. It also said that companies that are issuing meal vouchers under B2B arrangements in paper voucher form will now have to issue them in electronic form, including cards, and the maximum value in these PPIs cannot exceed Rs 1,00,000.

In order to reduce the burden of physically producing of vehicle documents like DL, RC to enforcement authorities, the transport department of government of Telangana recently launched a mobile app called ‘RTA m-Wallet’ and officially declared it as valid during any enforcement drive undertaken by the police. The app allows a user to download digital copies of vehicle documents which could be shown to the police and RTA authorities when demanded.

ECONOMICTIMES APR-2016.The Government wants to make the integration of DigiLocker, or digital locker, with Ahmednagar district's Rahuri Municipal Council a model for rest of the country, telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said Thursday (28-Apr-2016).The Rahuri Municipal Council of Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra has become India's first digitally connected local body. Under the government's Digital India program, the council Thursday integrated DigiLocker for issuing all essential government documents.
