“We have this programme called DigiYatra, which hopefully will be introduced in a few months itself,” Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister for Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation said at the sidelines of GJEPC 44th Gem & Jewellery Awards in Mumbai on Saturday night. “(Under this) the moment you will enter the airport, your images will be captured and then you will be able to go through the full lifecycle of your travel in a seamless manner,” the minister said.

MONEYCONTROL JUL-2018 Transactions through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) hit a new milestone in June, with the number of transactions on the platform breaching the 200-million mark for the first time since its inception.
Incidentally, the value of money that changed hands in 243.37 million UPI transactions in June — totalling Rs 40,834.03 crore — was also the highest in its history.

The Department of Telecommunications on Friday issued a notification, directing all phone service providers to reverify details for all existing subscribers through Aadhaar-based e-KYC (Know Your Customer) process.This follows a Supreme Court order last month in which it had approved the government’s plan to record the identification details of mobile subscribers through an e-KYC mechanism linked to Aadhaar.

FIRSTPOST MAR-2017. The revised RBI guidelines say that the minimum validity of the prepaid meal instruments shall be one year from the date of loading. Existing paper vouchers shall not be valid beyond December 31, 2017. It also said that companies that are issuing meal vouchers under B2B arrangements in paper voucher form will now have to issue them in electronic form, including cards, and the maximum value in these PPIs cannot exceed Rs 1,00,000.

The total outlay for manpower development has been pegged at over Rs 306.7 crore which would go into rural digital literacy programme for 75 lakh families, and capacity building in niche areas for 2,000 trained persons, according to the `Output-Outcome framework for Schemes 2017-18′ for the Department.
