      • Aadhaar now needed for mobile connection

        THEHINDU MARCH-2017. The Department of Telecommunications on Friday issued a notification, directing all phone service providers to reverify details for all existing subscribers through Aadhaar-based e-KYC (Know Your Customer) process.This follows a Supreme Court order last month in which it had approved the government’s plan to record the identification details of mobile subscribers through an e-KYC mechanism linked to Aadhaar.


        MUMBAIMIRROR MARCH-2017. Samsung has announced the launch of its flagship mobile payments service in the country. Apart from allowing users to simply tap and pay on the go using their registered cards, the service, Samsung Pay, has integrated Paytm as well as the government’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) into the application, the South Korean giant announced.
